Tu Carne (24.02.14)

Hi, guys! Your official biography says that your line-up stabilised only 4 years ago. What's current Tu Carne's line-up and what every member in particular is doing?

Hi Alexander! …in the history of T.C. we have always had a problem with the guitarists in the band, for various reasons they have never had availability to play out of here (Spain). Since Batman (our current guitar player) joined the TC family we no longer have that problem and now the only problem that we have to play away from here are our jobs. Our actually line-up is:

Flipi – bass & vocals, Batman – guitar, Rober – drums & vocals and Kojo – vocals.

As everyone knows, Coyote is a fearsome animal. And the most fearsome is the Russian Coyote) On what terms you have signed on this label? Personally I was joyed that you finally released your material on 12-inches.

We have contact and have worked with Coyote Rec. from long time ago, we thought that does a great job and we are very happy with all the releases that he had published. When we were playing in Moscow in the Coyote Brutal Fest. He told us that he was very interested in publishing new T.C. stuff, ...and we liked the idea and thought it would be good idea to release this stuff in two different formats (MCD and MLP). ...The vinyl MLP 12 " format stayed awesome!
Also about vinylomania. Wasn't there any offers from labels to re-release your first albums on this format? Does it contribute to fighting the piracy? 'Cause it's not so easy to digitize this.

Our idea is to re-issue all our stuff on vinyl format, not because it?s more difficult to piracy, but because we think that adds more value to the edition (biggest artwork, bonus songs... ) Internet killed the sale of music, and the only thing musicians can do is try to make our material more attractive to true fans. If you like an album, you might download it ... but if you really like it, you will buying it!

And a little more about your new album. Was the feedback from the fans good? I'm sure the mail service is damn tired to bring you packages from girls with wet panties in there)

jajajja for the moment we haven?t received packets with wet panties from our fans, but we would like! We?re very happy and satisfied with the end result of our "Desmembrados" we think it contains very good songs to old T.C. style!!!

For 17 years your band keep working and radiate death stench. When you were only starting the band, have you ever thought about keeping your band alive for so long and even save the great interest to it?

This has always been a hobby for us and always will be! it's been 17 years, we have had some good times, bad times ...and "some of them" have been think about to take our things and go home... but first of all we?re very good friends and been able to overcome adversity. We can?t know how much longer we're going to keep playing, but today we are enjoying it more than ever . everything interest, recognition ... etc for us is rewarding, but without forgetting that this is our hobby and our kind to get away from the routine of our daily...

Kojo, is your band a rare guest on the pages of underground press, or am I mistaken?

...maybe, as I've said before ... we've never been able to devote much time to the band doing tours and other things... Therefore, although we have many years playing, we aren?t too known out of here!

Let's talk about appearance a little. Isn't it hard to perform in leather mask? I guess you need a bunch of water bottles to replenish your health after every set?)

I only use the leather mask for a one song in live (El Cerdo) and is not too easy to sing with her. I spend quite hot and I sweat a lot with it, water is a must! the people who use them for their true purpose ... fuck with it, are authentic heroes for me! jajajaja

Two years ago you were in Russia. What's the feelings of Russian winter, fans and of course alcohol and non-alcohol treats?)

Was fun for us and a great experience to play there! had cold ... very cold! hahaha in the city where we live, the thermometer never reaches +10 degrees and there we were at -20 degrees! but with good beer and vodka is easier, maybe we missed some substances that  in Spain are more easier to get! The heat from the fans was incredible, we came back with the sensation of a great hospitality of the russian people!

Please, clarify the situation about these splits: PORNOCAUST/CxQxMxFx/CLOTPUMP/TU CARNE. If I got it right, it's a brand new release. And also I would like to know what's up with TU CARNE/THE CREATURES FROM THE TOMB. Does Rotten Roll Rec somehow couldn't manage to release it in time?

These two releases are already out! The split MCD with T.C.F.T.T. came released in early February and the "4 way split cd" the middle of January. The 4 way split TC containing 6 songs, two of them from the recording session of "Mondo Carne" and the other 4 songs were recorded in live at our rehearsal room.

What do you think about experiments in music, like addition of sax, violin and other non-grind instruments in grindcore?)

whatever is to experiment and try new things seem right ...sometimes I also make my noisy experiments in my home pc. but maybe I'm very purist and to listen and enjoy I like the old school grindcore. The grindcore is grindcore and another thing is ...something else! but no grindcore!

Is there a band on a grindcore-scene that you totally respect?

I listen to everything goregrind, crustcore industrial ... but as grindcore, in Spain ... there are very good grindcore bands (and with great quality) like as: Difenacum, L.F.A.A., Nashgul, RAS... out of here, I'll stay with the sound of Agathocles, Rot, Patareni... you know, old school grindcore!

Tu Carne for years of activity have released a lot of splits and albums. What's the release that you're proud of the most that you will show to your grandchildren?))

in our last studio recordings, I think we have obtained a better and more compact sound. Culto a la muerte, Mondo Carne, Desmembrados ... any of them I think that are very good stuff, without offense the earlier recordings in which we had fewer resources to record, but which contain great songs made with passion!

Have you had any ideas to do something unexpectable recently? Like this album with Haemorrhage with covers on old Spanish crust bands, or maybe some instrumental album "Songs for BBQ's"?)

Songs for a BBQ!! Jajajaja I like this idea!!! …sometimes we have been tempted to do some album of cover songs that we like, in fact once we started doing some of these covers like as Iron Maiden, Slayer, Bathory... maybe someday!

What about hanging out as a band? Do you go together somewhere, like picnics or bars or movies, or you're getting tired of each other on rehearsals and gigs?)

yes, we are good friends even before we start playing TC, also we have kids in the same age... and if we go to concerts, barbecues, camping weekend... we are the "grinder family"! jajajaja

Night, fire, time for some scary as fuck story) Please, tell us some creepy story about your gigs.

I'm sorry but at the moment we have not had any creepy story at our concerts ... just drunkenness, laughter and smells of sweat socks! ...that's creepy! hahahaha

Sombreros off to you, guys, thank you so much for this conversation. Waiting for your post-soviet countries tour!)

We hope we go play there soon, sure to be an incredibly brutal experience!..and good luck with “good guys go grind.blogspot”! greetings and a big hug Alexander!
